A male infant is born at 39 2/7 weeks’ estimated gestational age to a 24-year-old, gravida 1, para 1 woman via primary cesarean section for failure to progress following induction of labor for chronic hypertension. The blood group of the mother is A positive with negative prenatal serologies. The pregnancy had been complicated due to a body mass index (BMI) greater than 30, gestational diabetes, and chronic hypertension. Anatomy scan at 20 weeks’ gestation is unable to visualize the stomach and bladder; however, a repeat anatomy scan at 24 weeks’ gestation is normal. Serum analyte screening result is normal, and cell-free DNA screening yields a normal male genotype (46X,Y).
