Shared decision-making is required to ensure the best outcomes for children and families affected by ADHD, and establishing a collaborative partnership is the first step. Here are some tips to help the family accept the diagnosis and consider treatment options with an open mind.
Increase awareness of the causes, deficits, and long-term outcomes that are associated with ADHD. Link these back to the examples/results that were obtained during the evaluation.
